A few weeks ago, I was down in Virgina second shooting a wedding with Li, who runs Estate Serenity Imagery. Quite a trip! But the wedding (and couple!) were gorgeous and the folks were super awesome.

Before heading over to the ceremony, we picked up the flowers that everyone would be wearing/holding to photograph them in advance. I got to play with a LensBaby Composer for the first time (thanks Li!), and now I’m determined to buy one! The images that come out of that lens are gorgeous! Case in point: first image here.

While Li was off with the gals, I was handling groom portraits at their apartment (in NY-language, it’s a house). The guys were awesome and fun to be around. They also convinced me to stick around for the reception even though I had the choice of taking off for the rest of the night. =P

The wedding ceremony itself took place at a reception hall at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Gorgeous area. It was originally planned to be outdoors, but it was drizzling that day, so it was taken indoors. By the end of the ceremony, the sun came out and Li took the formal portraits outdoors on the lawn.

P.S. They had a friend of theirs officiating at the wedding. How awesome is that??

Doing a cute little dance as they walked out at the end of the ceremony…

Over at the Piccadilly’s Public House, known locally as Brew Pub, was Brian and Andrea’s wedding reception. I love how they have string lights everywhere.

This one was one of my favorites from the day. And that’s weird, because I don’t like pink all that much.

Aren’t they adorable?

More LensBaby shots. I couldn’t get enough!

A friend of mine, Nga, got married last month, and although I was attending the reception as a guest, that didn’t stop James and I from bringing our good ol’ cameras. Quite honestly, I wasn’t exactly the happiest camper when I saw how my photos were turning out that evening, and it hit me that I’d much rather photograph a wedding than attend one. As always, James did what he could to get me out of my emo mindset and by the end of the night, I actually ended up having a lot of fun (yay!). We even made friends with one of the working photographers that evening. :)

I was a second shooter for George Delgado again for Christian and Emel’s big day in July. Bride and groom prep took place at the Hilton Inn, a few miles away from Westbury Manor, where both the ceremony and reception took place. Beautiful area, complete with roaming peacocks and little bridges.
