Another test shoot today for me to hone in on my makeup skills. (snickers) Here’s Pamela, who has had experience in theatre makeup—which means she was able to give me pointers on how to fix my horrendous smokey eye skills. :)

I had decided to go out and get a full makeup kit. Granted, it’s inexpensive stuff from E.L.F., but still a good starter to have some fun with. Maybe one day I can be a multi-functional photographer who does makeup as well.

Did a test shoot and Stephanie played my guinea pig today, allowing me to paint all over her face; nevermind my grimacing at my own work as I went a long. I attempted doing smokey eyes… for starters, it’s just hard to do on Asian eyes, so I’m not sure why I’m so fascinated with this look. Either way, I think it came out a bit conservative so I admit to some darkening in post-processing of this photo. Here is the result:

Here is a shot from David’s session. He is a local comedian, performing stand-up at various places in the city. Trust me, he’s a funny guy. You should’ve seen the wide-angle photos we took. =P

Fun-filled photo shoot the other weekend for twins Danielle and Chantelle, who go by Twinz. Creativity seems to run in their family (designers, artists, etc). Awesome makeup/hair team as well—I hope to work with them again soon.

Right after the shoot, James and I went to Staten Island to pick up some used studio lighting. Fwee! Old-school equipment… They’re about as old as I am! But I tested them out last weekend on another client and they are pretty handy.
